STEVE MOYERS, 1980
This is Steve Moyers of the California Surf on a Carl's Jr. Restaurant card. The shot is from a 1980 match against the Chicago Sting. It is a great action shot but what I really like is that you just see the legs of the Sting's keeper Phil "Lofty" Parks. What is so special about that you ask? Phil is wearing one of his "classic" velour goalie kits. He started wearing them during the 1979 season and they were hilarious. It was a velour sweatsuit with name and numbers. He had a blue one (seen here) and a green one. I never saw another goalie wear one., wonder why?
